New Music Week

Five amazing new songs to the station this week!

JAIN - COME

I love this song. There’s no denying it. Maybe it’s because it sounds exotic, but it’s so darn catchy. Jain is a French singer-songwriter; her accent comes through very clearly in this song in particular. “Come” is the single from her new album Zanaka. The music video for “Come” is quite the trip, I recommend watching it.

HELLO CASANOVA - I'LL BE WAITING

Hello Casanova is an Irish alternative pop/punk band that reminds us of Modern Baseball. This song, “I’ll Be Waiting” is a great punk tune, with great vocals and driving guitar backed by pounding drums.

THE STRUMBELLAS - WE DON'T KNOW

The Strumbellas are back with another killer track. I loved “Spirits” because of the instrumentation and lead singer, Simon’s, unique voice and it comes through just as clear in “We Don’t Know.” There are two musical components that I am a sucker for; a horn section and a string section, and this track has a killer string break, check it out:

CRX - ANYTHING

CRK is an American rock band from LA and their newest album New Skin features this week’s fourth add: “Anything.” This one is pretty rocking and that could be because the lead singer is Nick Valensi of The Strokes. The band is actually a super group of a bunch of different artist from a bunch of different bands, with Valensi at the helm.

THE YOUNGEST - BUILT TO LAST

Last, but certainly not least for this week is The Youngest with their track “Built to Last.” The Youngest is an American rock band that also dabbles in some folk. They have a very old sound that works really well.
