New Music This Week

This week, we’ve got 5 new songs, here they are:

JULIA JACKLIN- LEADLIGHT

First up is “Leadlight” from Julia Jacklin’s debut album Don’t Let The Kids. Jeckman has one of those “old timey” voices and accompanied by the swing beat and guitar picking makes for a perfect marriage.

PHANTOGRAM- YOU DON’T GET ME HIGH ANYMORE

WARNING: THIS SONG WILL GET STUCK IN YOUR HEAD and that isn’t a bad thing. “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” is from duo Phantogram’s new album THREE. This track has what is, in my opinion, the perfect bland of electronic and rock.

BON IVER- 33 GOD

If you read Grace’s blog a couple weeks ago, you’ll understand her love for Bon Iver. That’s a partial reason she added “33 GOD” it was also added because it’s awesome. Bon Iver is one of the biggest innovators in music today, and “33 GOD” is a prime example of that.

LEWIS DEL MAR- LOUD(Y)

Lewis Del Mar is an American folk-pop duo from New York that I really dig. “Loud(y)” is from their self-titled album. With every listen to this song you will hear something new, guaranteed. This band reminds me a lot of Alt-J in the way they explore exactly what instruments can do.

BOYSCOTT- NOVA SCOTIA 500

Finally, “Nova Scotia 500” by Boyscott. This one has a classic beachy sound to it heard in the drum beats, guitar riffs, and the vocal distortions. A really easy-listening tune, check it out:
